"All different, all together" is the vision ELSA Day stands for: a yearly event that focuses on human rights. This year, the Dutch edition of ELSA Day is all about the Refugee and Asylum-seeker issue.
Of course ELSA Utrecht will also contribute to ELSA Day! We are happy to announce that our local ELSA Day event will be a fundraising lecture with some interesting speakers, including a student who had to leave her country and flee to the Netherlands. Do you want to know what it is like to flee your country and reach out to the refugees? Then we highly recommend visiting our fundraising lecture. The speakers will give valuable insights into the legal aspect of the refugee crisis and share their personal experiences. It will take place on the 23th of November, so save the date!
Line up: - Mi-Sue Akkerman, law lecturer at Utrecht University, specialized in refugee and asylum law and paralegal at VluchtelingenWerk Nederland - Siham Alatassi, student at Leiden University who left her country Syria in 2013 - Sanne Bartels, supervisor and project researcher 'Toevlucht' at VluchtelingenWerk Midden-Nederland
The entrance fee for this lecture will be €3 and you are free to donate on the event itself. All the money gathered on our special ELSA Day event will be donated to VluchtelingenWerk Nederland!
